abstract:
Im Anschluss an die Edition der keltiberischen Inschriften im vierten Band der Monumenta Linguarum Hispanicarum bietet nun der erste Teilband von Band V ein ausführliches keltiberisches Lexikon. Berücksichtigt sind hier die keltiberischen Wörter und Eigennamen, die durch einheimische Inschriften bezeugt sind. Keltiberische Formen, deren Deutung nicht selten umstritten ist, werden hinsichtlich ihrer Bildung, Bedeutung und Etymologie einzeln diskutiert, wobei jeweils auf bisher vorgeschlagene grammatische und etymologische Bestimmungen eingegangen ist.

Der Band wird eingeleitet durch ein knappes Vorwort, in dem methodische Grundlagen, sprachliche und graphische Voraussetzungen sowie der Aufbau der Wortartikel erläutert sind. Die in etymologischer Hinsicht besonders relevanten möglichen Bezüge zu anderen keltischen Sprachen sind am Ende des Werkes durch Indices erschlossen.

Das Wörterbuch bietet einen detaillierten Überblick nicht nur über die in keltiberischen Inschriften bezeugten Lexeme und ihre synchrone und sprachvergleichende Einordnung, sondern auch über den Forschungsstand und die bisherige Sekundärliteratur. Damit ergänzt es die Textedition und die Beschreibung der keltiberischen Grammatik, die im vierten Band der Monumenta Linguarum Hispanicarum vorgelegt wurden.
