Item description
§ 16. When Síd Ban Find has been dug up, someone (anonymous) steps forth to tell the men of Ireland that ‘the king of the síde of Ireland’ (Midir) is not present, but staying with a woman in his own dún (that is, Síd Brí Léith). When the royal host arrives there, they attempt to raze the mound, but whatever is dug up is restored the morning after. After a year and three months of trying, two white ravens and two hounds named Scleth and Samair appear from the mound. When the men of Ireland return south to dig up Síd Ban Find, someone (anonymous) steps forth in protest. Eochaid extracts from him some important advice for his mission: every day, the king is to bring blind pups and blind cats with him and simply to leave them.
