In the poem beg. A thobuir Trágha Dhá Bhan (7 qq), Caílte recalls how it was from the spring that the Fían proceeded to battle, such as when Coinchend and Finn’s Fían were slain above Maelglenn; or Fothad in the battle of Clárach; and it was where Blaí ingen Deirg Díanscothaig wept after the battle of Confaite [?, cf. l. 3621; or confaiti ‘raging’, for which see DIL s.v. confaite]; or Garad when dogs and men had perished.
