Item description
Patrick is at Ráith Droma Deirc performing liturgical services and blessing the fortress (where Finn once lived) when Caílte and his men approach them. Patrick’s priests (cléirig) are terrified at the sight of the enormous warriors (the tallest churchman merely reaches their waist) and their dogs. Patrick sprinkles holy water on the strangers and a thousand demonic legions that had been above their heads until this moment disperse in flight, moving into hills and clefts (i cnocaibh ⁊ i scalpaibh) and as far as the outer limits of the land (i n-imlibh na críche).
