Note on Lon Garad
- Irish
- prose
Brief Irish note on a saint of the Osraige named Lon Garad, or Longarad, nicknamed Cos-fhinn ‘White-Leg’, known as a scholar who was exceptionally learned but also niggardly in keeping his books to himself. It is found in at least three versions of the Commentary of Félire Óengusso, along with one or two quatrains concerning the saint’s death, as well as (semi-)independently, as an item wedged in with other Irish hagiographic material.
