Texts
Dúil Feda Máir‘The collection of great letters (?)’/‘The collection of the Great Wood (?)’
- Irish glossaries
The Dúil Feda Máir, now lost, is cited as a source for a number of entries in Irish glossaries such as Sanas Cormaic and O'Davoren's glossary. The Irish word Dúil (literally ‘book, codex’) is commonly used of certain learned compilations(1)n. 1 Carl Marstrander (ed.), Dictionary of the Irish language: based mainly on Old and Middle Irish materials (1913–1976): ‘3. dúil’. and appears to refer here to an Irish glossary, viz. Dúil Roscadach (also lost) and Dúil Dromma Cetta (extant).
Entries in Sanas Cormaic which refer to this text include ‘Clithar-sét’, ‘Gart’ and ‘Seng’; those in O'Davoren's Glossary include ‘Sethar’.
