J. G. Evans suggested that the greater part of the first section (1–123) was transcribed from Oxford, Jesus College, MS 119 (Book of the anchorite), “with some additional matter”. It preserves the end of Ystorya gwlat Ieuan Vendigeit, which is now wanting from its exemplar.
