§§ 1-31 as they stand in Kuno Meyer, The Triads of Ireland (1906). This part, which does not offer any triads, gives a list of 31 monastic sites in Ireland and describes them in terms of a particular attribute or quality, e.g. Armagh as the head of Ireland or Emly as the senchas of Ireland. Fergus Kelly, ‘Thinking in threes’, Proceedings of the British Academy 125 (2004): 3 points out that the inclusion of Kells, which was founded in 809, gives us a terminus post quem for the composition of the text, or at least this part of the text.
