Item description
According to the first tale, Eochaid is at Frémainn of Tethba when Sigmall Cáel, son of Oicnia, daughter of Midir, comes to avenge the honour of his grandfather: he burns down Dún Frémainn, slays the king and brings his head to Síd Nennta. According to the commentary, however, this cannot have been so: Sigmall and Fúamnach had already died in the reign of the Túatha Dé Danann, both having been killed by Manannán in Brí Léith. A quatrain beg. ‘Fuamnach baeth ba ben Midir’ (anonymous) is cited in support of this, saying that Manannán burnt both Fúamnach and Sigmall (as bri co mbilib).
