Gatherings 11–12 (ff. 79–92)

Ó Cuív explains that the leaves are out of order and the foliation is in error, which is the outcome of two mistakes. First of all, the bifolium formed by what is now ff. 81–82 was foliated at a time when it had been accidentally transferred from (12) to (11). Even though its position was later restored, the misfoliation persists. Second, while one mistake in the arrangement was corrected, another occurred because (12) was folded and sewn backwards. Ff. 81–82, originally at the centre of (12), became outer leaves and the resulting order of leaves in (12) is [82], [90, 91, 92], [87, 88, 89], [81].
