AAT: “Christian ceremonies or sacraments involving of the consecration of bread and wine by the minister or priest and its distribution to the worshippers. The term 'eucharist' derives from the Greek 'eucharistia' meaning 'thanksgiving.' It is the central act of worship for most Christian denominations, commemorating the Biblical story of the Last Supper, when Jesus referred to the wine and bread as his blood and body.”
