[EN] The Period of the Early IIa La Tène in Champagne.
Celtic cemeteries digged up in Champagne during the last decades have given us the means to reach a far better understanding of the 5th and 2rd century B.C. They all present however a considerable gap for the 4th century, on account of their localization in the periphery of the Marne area.
This gap cannot presently be filled except by studying the old collections gathered from other districts of Champagne, particularly the Beine-Suippes region, most of them being kept in the Musée des Antiquités Nationales in St-Germain-en-Laye. One can note amongst them an important number of personal ornaments, characteristical of the Early Ila La Tène, ornaments one has to get acquainted with in order to study the evolution of Celtic civilization in Champagne.
