A medical encyclopedic handbook written by French physician and scholar Bernard de Gordon in the beginning of the 14th century (1303–1305?), when he was active as professor of medicine at the University of Montpellier. The work survives in numerous manuscrpts, was first printed in Naples in 1480 and was translated, in whole or in part, into multiple vernaculars, including French, German, Spanish and Irish.
An Early Modern Irish version of Bernard de Gordon’s treatment of lovesickness (amor hereos), from his medical work Lilium medicinae.
