[EN] Gaulish etymologies.
XI. Gaulish tithe or Greek tithe ? Oswald Szemerenyi has recently proposed to analyse Gaul, δεκαντεμ. as a loan from Greek δεκάτην, even in its ending. Examining this new theory, the author rescues an interpretation of δεκαντεμ. as a Gaulish name for tithe , and of -em as the acc. sg. of á-stems. — XII. The verb ειωραι, newly discovered in N mes, seems to be a 3rd sg., a doublet of ειωρου (Vaison), but belonging to the same series as 1rst sg. ieuri (Lezoux).
