[EN] The Severn Basin is an area rich in history, secular and religious, archaeology, mythology, folklore and literature. Correlating characters and events from mediaeval Welsh literature, traditional tales from other parts of the region, the iconography of the major religious sites in the area, the history of two important Celtic tribes, numismatics, beliefs and traditions from other parts of the Celtic and Indo-European world, and observing the two major, natural phenomena of the area - the Severn bore and the thermal springs at Bath - it may be possible to get a glimpse of the religious beliefs of those who inhabited the Severn Basin, perhaps as early as the Neolithic. The main impression is one of balance, between masculine and feminine, sun and moon, and the power of the waters, both salt and fresh.
