| | |Language=Despite archaising tendencies in orthography, “cartt for card = carn, Maggán, genir are genuine archaic spellings; and lastly, there are two forms which are not found outside our oldest glosses. These are mucintar (l. 26) and in tain (l. 25). The former represents a mixture of the oldest form of the word, montar (Wb. 7 c 5), and the later muinter. The use of the accusative in intain 'when' is another undoubted sign of great age, pointing to an Old-Irish original as the source from which our copy is derived. This original cannot have been later than the ninth century and may even be assigned to the eighth” (Meyer).{{Note|{{C/s|Meyer 1899d|at=314}}.}} | ||
