[EN] Mythological aspects of the Old Irish grammatical tradition.
The Old Irish grammatical tradition comprehends two different layers : one of Latin origin and the other indigenous. The former realizes as the applying of Latin grammar ideas and methods to the Irish language. The latter reflects indigenous ideas concerning poetical (literary) creation. It first consists in the technics implied in transforming words (díchned , dechned, etc.). Another important aspect is the classification of language into 5 species (bérla na filed, iarnbérla, etc.) which goes back to the archaic opposition between divine speech and human speech, and which contains moreover other mythologemes. It must be remarked that the ideology of the Latinists differs very much from the indigenous Irish tradition.
