A Journal of Irish Studies
- 1939–present
Journal devoted to the Irish language and literature. Éigse (Irish for ‘learning’ or ‘poetry’) was founded by Gerard Murphy and saw its first volume published in 1939, continuing in a sense Lia Fáil, the journal edited by Douglas Hyde. The first 19 volumes were published in four constituent parts; since 1984, Éigse is published as a single volume without a subdivison into separate parts.
