[EN] Studies on the Old Irish verb : perfects with a long vowel in Celtic and Germanic.
The perfect with ō-/ē- ablaut in the root ought to be recognized as a genuine Indo-european formation. It contrasted in being telic, terminative and often transitive with F οίδα-like perfect, the root-ablaut of which was ole (not o/ø as generally assessed) unless reduplicated (in which case the ablaut was o/ø).
